  The Fear mongering of this weeks WT study!

  have you all read this weeks study article?.

  oh my word it is full of fear inducing tactics....doom and gloom outlooks.... anxiety inducing methods to develop absolute control over witnesses and cripple them in any attempt to think for themselves!.

  One thing's for sure, if the Witnesses ever get into a situation where they are being persecuted by a government the Governing Body will be the first to throw them under the bus.

  i just came across on in a book i'm reading that i thought i would share with you, appropriate to the forum.. "men think in herds; it will be seen that they go mad in herds, while they only recover their senses slowly, and one by one".

  however, it is recorded in the gospel of thomas (not in the traditional four gospels).

  jesus says: if the flesh came into existence because of the spirit, it is a marvel.

  I'm surprised you didn't quote the Canonical gospels such as Matthew which says: "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell." Matthew 10:28 New International Version

  "If the “scientific” Evolution Theory is true, we should have had, by now, an elevated view about ourselves. But we are yet to have even a realistic view of ourselves." 

  It could easily be interpreted to mean that evolution hasn't yet progressed to the point where we all show respect to others regardless of race or gender. 

  "How many of us treat the Black as equal to the rest of the humanity?"

  The phrase "the Black" reminds me of what the American politician Rick Santorum said when he used that exact phrase. Patronizing. You could have said something else like "Black people".

  received revealing "witness" in parking lot

  a few weeks ago i was working out of my home state and was in a grocery store parking lot when i received my first jw witness since leaving jwdom.

  a youngish-looking lady was sitting in an suv parked next to my car and i was about to get in my car to leave.

  she opened the door and asked whether she could give me something to read (had a tract in her hand)..

  During my days as a witness in the 1970s, I and some older brothers who were ministerial servants would peer into the original Hebrew and Greek words of the Bible and at times even listen to apostate books and audio recordings in order to refute them. We were not typical of your average witness back then but it showed that there was some 'scholastic' ability among some of them.

  i'm new here and not sure where to post.

  so, i'm 21 years old and currently a baptized witness, however, i'm slowly making my mind up to leave and here's why.. first, there are certain things that make no sense to me in the organization.

  Garrett, since you suffer from severe depression have you gone to see a doctor?

  Depending on your personal history and diagnosis they may prescribe medication that could help. I know this from personal experience since I too have suffered from severe depression all my life. I remember sitting at the meeting one day and, for no reason at all, was about to start crying. I wish my elders had counseled me about getting help instead of the usual "pray to Jehovah" crap.
